RFID

RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) is a technology used to identify objects and control flow of  products. The Read information from special tags that are attached to the objects followed by radio. Depending on the type of tag the amount of stored information is changing as well as the maximum distance at which data can be read.

FC standards cover communications protocols and data exchange formats, and are based on existing radio-frequency identification (RFID) standards including ISO/IEC 14443 and FeliCa.

In terms of device ruggedness, the M101BL - ST can withstand a 4-foot drop, and with IP65 sealing, where the first digit "6" means the device is dustproof and the second digit "5" means that the device has the ability to handle low pressure water jets from all directions. The tablet can operate in temperature range of -10° to 50°C, optimized for most industrial deployments. M101BL - STis a sharp looking, sturdy and powerful device that can hold up well against use in harsh environment with its industrial grade rugged design.

Computer made in accordance with the requirements of the U.S. military standard MIL-STD-810G. He keeps working after falling onto concrete from a height of 1.2 meters, is not afraid of vibration, shock, water, mud and temperature changes. Certification C1D2 means that during operation of the tablet will not occur and the spark generating heat sufficient to ignite the vapors contained in the atmosphere of acetylene, hydrogen and other gases (important when operating in the petroleum industry). Operating temperature range from minus 20 to plus 60 degrees Celsius.

IP65 Resistance

IP stands for Ingress Protection and is essentially a rating system developed by the International Electrotechnical Commission or the IEC. The system is now being used to classify different degrees of protection against intrusion or immersion. The IP rating is usually followed by two digits. The first indicates the level of dust-resistance, the second water resistance. Dust-resistance levels goes from 0 up to 6 while water-resistance goes from 0 to 8.

Functionality

Winmate describes the M101BL - ST tablet as "rugged" and with its corner protection it certainly looks much tougher than all those Barbie-thin and fragile consumer tablets. Given Winmate's experience in rugged mobile computing, we assume those are just partial specs.
